So…I woke up this morning and had the most random songs in my head. I swear I went back and forth between the theme songs for Inspector Gadget and Popeye the Sailor Man while getting ready for work this morning. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to kick either one and it’s now 10:30.

To top it off..I open google today…and poof there’s Popeye in the google wording. TELL ME THIS ISN’T BIZARRE AS HELL.

I have a few thoughts on the matter since I can’t seem to concentrate on work now.

1. Popeye is 75 and Inspector Gadget is 26.  Can someone please tell me how/why these two fellas decided to jump into my head this morning? Is there some underlying theme here I’m just not seeming to grasp?

2. Popeye the Sailor Man? Have you ever read the lyrics or actually thought about the character?? The dude is in the Navy..but the only thing he does is eat spinach (am I eating too much spinach or something??) and chase around his single mother-anorexic girlfriend…often defending her from the bully Bluto (who oddly reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger). He also carries a pipe around in his mouth 24-7. I just can’t think of a better way to tell our youngsters to stay away from tobacco! Lastly, what’s with his forearms and his weird shaped knees?

3. Inspector Gadget. I loved this cartoon growing up. It may be the root of my secret desire to become a detective. However, good ol IG was pretty much an idiot..always making mistakes..eventually Penny(who I resembled as a kid- trying to make connections here ok?!) and the Brain (the dog) would have to come help him out. However, IG had some cool high-tech stuff. Go-go-gadget whatever would always ammuse the hell out of me.

4. There’s something wrong w me. This is the only thought that makes any sense in this matter.
